About us.

My name is James Hopkins of BluePrint Dachshund Kennel. I have been raising Dachshund puppies for quite a while. In the nineties, I started getting into them, but my father, in the eighties, already had them in the yard, so we got acquainted with them in the early eighties.

My dad was really into dogs; he had all kinds of breeds—Jack Russells, poodles, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and Dobermans—but the mini Dachshund really stood out to me and my sister. We just loved them from day one.

When we got out of high school, we started looking for dogs ourselves, and the mini Dachshund was the only dog we wanted. So we got our first dog, and after that, I was given a mini Dachshund by a family relative. It was just different having my own dog, and I started raising it in the house. Since then, I’ve been raising Doxies.

Our Specialization

We specialize in Miniature Smooth and Longhaired Dachshunds. Our beautiful Doxies and their puppies are treasured members of our family. All of our adult Dachshunds spend their days in a specially designed, temperature-controlled indoor/outdoor kennel when they are not in the house with us.

How We Work

Puppy Adoption Process

1 Choose your doxie

Take your time to browse available puppies. Our puppy associates along with the breeder will answer any questions you may have. We firmly believe in building a relationship between you and your breeder. We track and record all communications to ensure a safe and smooth transaction. Feel free to call us, email us, text message us, you name it. We are here for you.

2 Screening

We require you to complete the Buyer Questionnaire so our breeders and our puppy associates have a better understanding of you, your family, your living arrangements, your lifestyle, and your location.

If selected, you will be required to review and sign our sales contract and transfer of ownership agreement.

3 Take your pet home

Yay! It’s time to be united with your fur baby. By this point in time, your travel arrangements have been made. At the time of delivery you will be presented with our Delivery Confirmation and Transfer of Ownership form for your review and signature along with vaccination and health records. We also require a picture of you and your fur baby at the time of delivery. We love these moments!!

You are welcome to drive here and pick up your puppy or meet us at a designated location within a 70-mile radius of our home. We only accept pickups during Weekends only and Strictly on appointments. If this doesn’t work for you, we’re happy to ship your puppy using one of our shipping options listed above.
